Ladakh is a word that translates into high passes and this region that lies between the Himalayas and Karakoram range has some of the highest motorable roads in the world reaching up to 18,000 feet. With our Ladakh Adventure motorcycle tours, you will experience the best stays and most fun-filled routes across this region.
Srinagar is literally heaven on earth and one visit to this city will ensure that you fall in love with it. Shimmering lakes with gondola like boats, Mughal era gardens, a lively community of people, and a cuisine full of rich fragrant spices – this is what awaits you in the city of Srinagar.
Located in the Zanskar range of the Himalayas is the small town of Kargil, which shot into prominence during the Kargil War between India and Pakistan. Home to the world’s highest battle, this picturesque town has much more going on! Rock cut buddha statues, gorgeous abandoned villages, amazing viewpoints, pristine lakes, and lovely people make Kargil a must-visit destination.
Leh is the epicenter of tourism in the Ladakh region and this small village has grown into a full-scale city, thanks to media features and Bollywood movies. It is now the gateway to popular destinations like Nubra valley, Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri.
Once a remote village, Nubra Valley is now a major tourist attraction thanks to its lovely sand dunes and Bactrian Camels. This beautiful valley consists of small villages, each with its own characteristic.
Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri are high altitude lakes located close to Leh city. Surrounded by bald, brown mountains the lakes, with their azure blue waters make for a stunning sight, especially for landscape photographers. While Pangong Tso is located at an altitude of 13, 900 feet, Tso Moriri sits at 14,800 feet.

Bangalore to Hyderabad (570 kms, 11 hours)
This is the longest rides of the tour as we zip through NH-44 to reach Hyderabad in the evening. For a little R&R we can visit the Charminar or Necklace road at night.
Hyderabad to Nagpur (500 kms, 9 hours)
It’s a scenic ride from Hyderabad to Nizamabad as we ride through the lovely NH-44. After we hit Maharashtra, it will take us a couple of hours to reach our pitstop, Nagpur.
Nagpur to Sagar (400 kms, 8 hours)
This is an offbeat destination but it’s just a pitstop on our way to the Northern states. The city was earlier known as Saugor and is located in a spur in the Vindhya Range.
Sagar to Agra (450 kms, 8 hours)
The ride to the land of the Taj Mahal. It should be an easy day as we traverse through national highways to reach Agra in the evening.

A rest day that can be used to relax or visit the Taj region.
Arrive in Chandigarh
Arrive in Chandigarh and check into your hotels. Ensure that you reach in the first half so that we collect your bikes, do a pre-ride checkup and interact with the group. In the evening, we can go around Chandigarh and see some sights.
Chandigarh to Jammu (340 kms, 7 hours)
Our route takes us to Jammu as we leave Chandigarh after breakfast and cover 340 kms in the day. It’s a hot ride as we travel across flatlands, mostly through national highways and reach Jammu in the evening. We check into our hotels and break for the day.
Jammu to Srinagar (270 kms, 8 hours)
We depart Jammu and head to heaven on earth – Kashmir. Located between the Great Himalayan range and the Pir Panjal mountains, Kashmir is blessed with natural beauty, lip smacking cuisine and views of snowcapped mountains. Srinagar will be out pit stop enroute to Ladakh with plenty to see and experience.

Explore the popular sites in Srinagar like the beautiful Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, Char Chinar, local markets, Pari Mahal and many more interesting places. Indulge in local Kashmiri cuisine known for its rich taste, mesmerizing aroma and salt tea!
Srinagar to Kargil (200 kms, 6 hours)
The climb begins as we head towards the Ladakh region with the first stop being Kargil. Kargil was a strategic point during the Kargil War between India and Pakistan and a visit to the Kargil War Memorial on the way is a must do! Today we cross the Zojila pass.

Explore the stunning landscapes around Kargil as we ride to border areas like Hunderman, Batalik and explore Suru Valley.
Kargil to Leh (220 kms, 5 hours)
The ride takes us further into the mountains as we head out of Kargil crossing small villages on the way. The green landscapes of Kargil change into the brown hues of the water-deprived high altitude deserts in the Leh region.
Stay in Leh
A rest day to get used to the altitude and reduced oxygen levels as Leh city is located at an altitude of 11,400 feet. This day should be utilized to catch up on rest or to explore the city.
Leh to Nubra (130 kms, 5 hours)
Diskit, Hunder, Turtuk, and Thang are the popular sights around the Nubra valley and the day will be spent exploring these villages. If time permits, we also take a ride on double humped Bactrian camels in the Nubra desert. On the way, you cross the mighty Khardung La.

Camel rides, a trip to the border village of Thang, sunset by the sand dunes, and a ride to Panamik are on the cards as we take time to explore Nubra Valley
Nubra to Pangong (240 kms, 7 hours)
From the deserts in Nubra valley, we travel to Pangong Tso Lake – a mystical emerald blue lake located near the China border. The glacier-fed lake lies at an altitude of 13,900 feet and our stay is in campsites next to the Holy Lake.
Pangong to Chumathang (300 kms, 7 hours)
A ride back to Chumathang will give us a shot pit stop before we head to Tsomoriri, a pristine mountain lake located in the Changthang Plateau. The distance from Pangong Tso to Tso Moriri is quite long so Chumathang serves as a stopover destination.
Chumathang to Tso Moriri (80 kms, 3 hours)
Located at 14,800 feet it is the largest of all high-altitude lakes in India. This is one of the most scenic drives in the Leh region and you will be traveling through the dry, desert belt for the most part. Stay will be organized in campsites next to the lake or at homestays in the nearby villages.
Tso Moriri to Pang (150 kms, 5 hours)
228 kilometers and 8 hours – this is what it will take for us to ride from Tso Moriri lake to Sarchu, a small village on the Leh Manali highway. This is a major halt point on the way back to Delhi and lies a little before the treacherous Rohtang Pass.
Pang to Keylong (190 kms, 6 hours)
It’s a short ride from Sarchu to Keylong as we cover 110 kms over 4 hours in the day. By lunch time we will be in Sarchu and you can take rest for the day. Tomorrow we ride through the mighty Rohtang La.
Keylong to Naggar (140 kms, 5 hours)
Rohtang Pass with an altitude of 13,000 feet is one of the most difficult mountain passes to ride through. The pass is full of rocky roads, slush, melting snow and this makes it difficult to navigate through. We ride slowly and carefully as we navigate the mountain terrain before heading down into Naggar near Manali.

Enjoy a day off in Naggar as we spend time exploring the town or just chilling by the river.
Naggar to Chandigarh (280 kms, 9 hours)
Time to get back to Chandigarh and we check out of our hotels in Naggar after breakfast. After lunch on the way, we reach our Chandigarh hotels in the evening.
Chandigarh to Delhi (250 kms, 5 hours)
It’s a hot day’s ride as we zip through highways to reach the capital city of Delhi. This marks an end to our North India leg of the tour and tomorrow we move down to the Central part of India.
Delhi to Jhansi (460 kms, 8 hours)
It’s a highway run as we travel to MP from the NCR region. The weather will be hot but with plenty of breaks we should make to Jhansi in the evening.
Jhansi to Bhopal (340 kms, 7 hours)
The tour takes us riding through NH-44 as we cross places like Lalitpur, Khurai and the historical town of Vidisha on our way to Bhopal.
Bhopal to Nagpur (350 kms, 8 hours)
Today you get to see places that you read about in history books! Ride through Hoshangabad, Itarsi and Betul as we travel towards Nagpur.
Nagpur to Hyderabad (500 kms, 9 hours)
We burn the tarmac as we zip through the beautiful highways, crossing Nizamabad enroute to Hyderabad before we reach Bangalore.
Hyderabad to Bangalore (570 kms, 11 hours)
This is it. The end of the tour as we head back home. The ride is long and we will reach Bangalore at night, exchanging goodbyes!

We encourage our guests to experience the local cuisines of the destinations we travel to. In remote areas, we might not get options for eating different cuisines. We will ensure you get wholesome, tasty and hygienic food wherever we go.
It’s a long tour that covers a large part of India. You will mostly ride through highways, but also a mix of a stretch of off-road trails, broken tarmac, dirt roads, etc.
Yes, you should always have at least 2 liters of water with you at any time.
We try to blend in homestays, hotels, and resorts in each destination to balance comfort with the local experiences. All your accommodations will be clean, hygienic, comfortable and safe.
Yes, you will need to carry your own luggage. You can install a luggage carrier on your bike, get good saddle bags/tank bags to increase your luggage carrying capacity.
While riding, we should have access to public toilets/hotel toilets. But there will instances where there are none and you will have to answer nature’s call in nature.
Yes, you can. The tariff for pillion is the same as the rider. Since this is a long tour we don’t recommend a pillion as you would need to back seat to store luggage.
We carry a basic first aid box with us and encourage you to carry your own medicines as well. In case of an emergency, we take you to the closest available medical center. We would also request you to share any pre-existing medical conditions and allergies, if any with us.
All riders are required to be 21 years of age at the time of the tour. You need to have held a license for at least 2 years and should have experience in riding on all kinds of terrain. During the tour, you will be riding through highways and paved roads but there will be places where we drive on snow, black ice, slush, gravel roads, broken tarmac, and dirt roads. Such long expeditions require a flexible, adaptable personality so that you can adjust in any kind of environment.
Yes, you can! If you are getting your personal vehicle for the tour then we will have to approve of it and decide whether it’s suitable for the terrains we will drive through. In addition to this, the vehicle needs to be legally owned by you, or in case it is someone else’s then a written authority from the owner along with the paperwork showing their ownership of the said vehicle is a pre-requisite. The vehicle needs to be able to comfortably accommodate your pillion (if any) and fit in luggage for the entire duration of the tour.
Through a wide network on vendors, we can get you the required rental vehicle you need and we don’t charge anything for this service. To hire the rental vehicle, you will need to be a minimum of 25 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license, and should have driven a similar vehicle earlier. Your rental contract will directly with the vendor and Moto Overlanders has no part in it except for facilitating the discussion.

Yes, but these meetings are not necessarily in person. Before the tour, we will get in touch with you through email/phone or face to face sessions, and brief you about things like what to expect during the trip, basic ground rules, things to pack, etc.
If it’s a long tour then you will need to get your vehicle service just before you start your trip. Your tires need to be in good condition and if not, we recommend you to change them. If it’s an emergency, you can also get your vehicle serviced during the tour as long as you don’t hamper the tour schedule. All such expenses will be borne by you.
